Young Leaders revel in leading the young
During the year Big Woods yr 10 BTEC students have excelled in leading lessons and running various tournaments for the feeder primary schools.
When Warren Primary lost the use of their indoor facilities for a term the BTEC students invited them up to use Big Woods facilities and taught a variety of sports to the youngsters who came from all year groups. So impressed was Keith Eddyshaw (PLT) that he nominated two of them for awards at the Partnership Awards Evening. Both Ryan Clements and Hannah Carnill duly collected these on the 5th July.
Also this year the students organised the first Year 1 racket sports Event, where pupils from Southglade Infants, Warren and Glade Hill all enjoyed a fun afternoon that activities revolved around a tennis and badminton theme.
More events are planed for next year’s leaders.
